FAQs
What types of topics can we address in parent consultation meetings?
We can address a wide variety of topics through the lens of ABA. Examples include increasing communication (vocal communication and/or the use of an alternative method of communication depending on child’s current skillset), supporting play skills, supporting independence for daily routines, increasing tolerance for daily living routines, identifying function of challenging behavior, and proactively preparing for challenging behavior- to name a few.
What does the structure of services look like?
Parent consultation services take place directly with a BCBA, LBA. I will provide direct services and work directly with you, the parent, towards socially significant goals for your child to help you support you and navigate the diagnosis. I recommend 1-2 hours per week of services with me in order to see best outcomes, however I am happy to discuss a plan for services that will work best for you and your family to help identify if I am a good fit for your family and what you are needing.
How is this different from other in clinic or in-home services offered locally?
Typical clinic or in-home services have a BCBA providing supervision to an RBT or BT who is delivering services to a client. In this structure I provide services as the BCBA directly to the parent who then can work directly with their child. This empowers parents to support their children and allows the BCBA to identify interventions most applicable and sustainable to the family themselves.
Do you accept insurance?
At this time we are in network with BCBS TX PPO Plans and private pay. Benefits to private pay are that it offers some additional freedom in terms of the direction you would most like services to go, and increased access to these services that can be beneficial for a wide variety of ages, and diagnoses. Insurance does require a prior authorization, client assessment and in the state of Texas a medical diagnosis of autism is required for insurance purposes.
What is your rate for private pay services?
Services are $85/hour for virtual services and $100/hour for local in-home services. Please note: in-home services are provided locally at the discretion of the BCBA based on distance and availability.
